I think AI can be incorporated into certain frames or bits of a cartoon. I just think it shouldnt be stealing art from elsewhere but rather learn on art specifically made for the movie.
Background shots could definately be made with AI, even background characters but the main characters and foreground should be made by hand to ensure the movie is cohesive. They just cant get lazy with it, thats literally the whole problem.
