I could see LLM AI bringing in an internet "dark age". There's too much slop to dig through to find useful information or entertainment anymore, and most content is reactionary or derivative. AI can't make new, original, insightful content (yet) and folks are quickly preferring human made content anyway. In the short term I think people will tolerate it, but long term there will be "internet people" addicted to AI content and "outside people" enjoying and curating older media and making new stuff.
