I want AI to help make my job easier... Analyzing highly technical nonsense, so I don't have to spend so long staring at eyebleedingly large sets of data... You know, so I have time to do _other_ things. 'AI' is great, specifically as specialist tool (as you mentioned; for curing cancer, and all that other good stuff)... And yet LLMs are all the rage while they confidently give you false information, and midjourney (etc) can make some of the most uncanny valley shit I've ever seen while people praise it for its... idk? Ability to win votes? bah
