I saw that Asmondgold clip before, and when you listen to it IN FULL, he has a point. So much of art now is corporate and is basically being created by the suits up top who are trying to do everything they can to maximize profits. So, yes, once AI is good enough to fully create something mildly tolorable to watch, we are going to be flooded with more AI slop. The jobs and the art industry itself are going to basically disappear.
What Asmon doesn't think about is the fact that we artists have more power than ever to get our work out there on our own. We don't need these corporate overlords to take off. We can do it through our own hard work by creating our own spaces and by staying true to ourselves. The space is going to look very different if and when these companies fully embrace AI, but artists can be the counter-culture to the slop culture that is seemingly inevitable.
