The way it should be seen is that algorithms are complex structures of math and graph theory. You feed lots of data into it and then a model is created that can output speech text based on some never before seen speech text input. That's all. It's incredibly good at doing this and scientists even know how to train for thousands of features including complex speech contexts (i.e. humor, anger, sadness, sentiment). It sounds like a human, and speaks more intelligently than our previous president, but it's not a human mind. A fly is more sentient than this algorithm, by every definition of sentience.
