Pretty much you are being way to complex. The idea was always to cater to a small wealthy crowd who has the option to work or not.
The working class is just an obsolete resource. Whenever these billionaires talk about automated utopias I always take it as a genocidal dog whistle as there are not enough resources for UBI. Imagine never firing a bullet, you just starve the undesirables out, it's their fault anyway right?
