AI is not the problem, people are! This is a prime example for exactly that and even his anti AI rant at the end can be boiled down to: a-holes and greedy people are ruining lives, jobs and society. It's always the same when some new tech comes up... the thing gets blamed for humanity's many flaws.
Yes I do see, that some of these people use AI to cut out artists and it sucks, but on the other hand the technology offers many other people chances they otherwise wouldn't have. From big ones, like scientific breakthroughs that would have taken years to decades otherwise to simple things like offering individuals that would not have hired someone in the first place to get some decent artworks for their personal projects that neither have a budget, or are meant to rake in lots of dollars.
And yes, I wrote decent, because besides all the slop, you can actually make something decent looking with AI, if you get a bit into the topic and know how and what to tweak. Don't get me wrong, the "AI stuff is also hard work" argument of the "friend" here is total BS but a bit of a learning curve to get away from slop mountain is there, but definitely does not make one any form of artist, or compareable to ones work.
