Great followup dude. Mad respect for addressing issues with the first vid. For what its worth i thought the first video also brought up some good points so i dont think it was malicious. This just clarified things more. Heres my thoughts on the matter:
I think this whole ai thing just brings another reason we need an overhaul on copyright law. Adam neely had a great take on a royalty/citation based system which could create a profit system for artists in a learning model. He didnt include ai in his vid (as much), but the whole idea of ownership in intellectual property as currently stands creates a very difficult barrier to entry for current artists which will only be made worse going forward with the intro of ai. Its basically winner takes all as currently stands when it is becoming increasingly difficult to have straight up original work.
Maybe ai dev companies that have learning models could be required to create a citation list that they publically disclose, and then give royalty payouts as a percentage of profit every year. I think that would at least take some financial pressure off artists that get direcrly screwed over by this.
Ofc this is more of a music perspective, but i think the citation rules could directly help visual artists. Intellectual property laws transcend genre, and this might be a good way forward since companies kinda go with the easiest/cheapest route anyway.
