2:24 “changing year in header” These sorts of tasks are a source of deep problems for AI. I would illustrate this with the current Android mobile app for a brokerage with about $8 trillion AUM. I August of 2021 this brokerage had an excellent mobile app which was replaced by something that any sentient developer would be profoundly shamed to have put into production. The fundamental BUY SELL transaction does not run as all brokerage transactions do. It is missing the CHANGE function. Certain accounts were not even listed. The listings for Bonds was missing CUSIP IDs. There is more, but the point is that anyone familiar with brokerage functionality would know that this app was a dangerous disgrace. What happened? Consultant MBAs and subcontractors brandishing AI etc. Every knowledgeable person at this brokerage who was a week away from vesting was “transferred” to a subcontractor to dig their own grave and keep their mouth shut. Of course TCS or Infosys or whoever, explained that they were going to “AI” the whole system. The problem is that freshers at the subcontractor side and recent hires at the brokerage side were wielding MS PowerApps and other Weapons of Mass Confusion without any real understanding of how a brokerage works. This app is still out there after 2.5 years of being RONG They put something out that sort of works but the whole shebang has gotten away from being correct. The person who changed the year in the header is not there to tell them that the system is drifting into space beyond recovery. When you are operating a brokerage with $8 trillion AUM these sorts of lapses can generate problems every bit as complex as complex synchronization issues.
