I’ve been thinking about this in relation to my own work. I’ve got a fixed caseload and fixed output expectations, and AI has genuinely helped me work more efficiently. What’s interesting is that the productivity gain shows up for me rather than at an organisational level. I get more done, the work feels smoother, and I reclaim time I wouldn’t have had before.
It makes me wonder whether, at this stage, many of the real productivity benefits are being felt by individual workers who adopt these tools — not necessarily by employers or systems, which may not yet have adapted their structures or expectations to capture those gains.
