I feel the same way. When finding out art I saw is AI or the poster of it proudly says it was assisted by AI, I immediately feel the strongest possible disconnect from the piece I could have with it. In purely made AI pieces, there's just.. Nothing, I feel nothing from them. There was *nothing* put into making the piece. I've actually drawn before, a tiny, minuscule amount of times (I prefer writing, when it comes to my own creative avenue) but I feel immensely more proud of my squishy pixel take of a Shaymin from pokemon than I ever could from putting a "pixel shaymin" prompt into some random AI generator. Because *I* know the work I put into that piece, regardless of the perceived quality of it. I've drawn a horse too, with guidance from a friend of mine who's actually an artist, as well as two characters from an old show. The whole process had a lot of learning to it, given me even more perspective on now, now that AI reared it's ugly, ugly head towards creative skills. While I personally don't have a steady enough hand to draw (and finding my fullfillment through other creative means), I will always prioritize commissioning a real, human artist, and have done so a number of times from artists of varying detail and styles, and each piece made has given me infinitely more fullfillment than an AI generated piece ever could. It's so much better to talk with a human during the process, and see the results of it over time. Even though I'm not actually drawing the piece myself, and it's a job I'm paying the other person for, it feels like a mini 2 partner process, of ideas being given, and the artist gives you back their perspective of what they've gleaned from your words, it's just wonderful. An AI can never compete with a human when it comes to creativity and expression, no matter how "detailed" AI art can get. They can never generate soul.
