Constructing a theory of mind is an instinctive human cognitive process and developmental milestone. It takes further maturity to realise the theory is a projection, just long enough to fall in love and reproduce. It is entirely consistent with this that AI believers have a youthful profile but people of any age can behave like children, though whether they are playing or in danger of doing something stupid is another question.
