I got my first drawing tablet. and I thought it would help me be a better artist, I also got drawing programs and downloading brushes. I got books on how to this and that for drawing. I would pay for videos or how to drawing online classes.... none of that MADE me a better artist. in fact, I was REALLY mad at my tablet, I was mad at the art programs. I couldnt do what my brain could see. I couldnt put out the things I could imagine still! nope XD it still took me years of practice. and I STILL can't do everything I want to. because I still need to practice. The hardest part is stepping out of my comfort. doing challenges helps! and def pencil and paper is different then computer. but I waste so much less paper >.> and no more eraser bits flying everywhere as I frantically erase everything I draw XD inking was always my fave thing and normally I would use a clear plastic sheet with a light under it so I could trace my sketches with a pen or marker, while tracing over the normal paper and erasing away the old marks COULD work, I would scribble so much it would be impossible XD knowing how to smudge or blur pastel is still needed if you want to do it on the computer. you have to know when to do it, where and if you did too much. color blending or how colors work together, overall color theory is still needed, and knowing where lines need to be for the drawing is still important and the computer wont DO it for you. AI is fun to use to help you get the art out of your head, and use it as a ref, but not send it out as a finished art work. I dislike people using it as a finished work.
