If children are already "lagging behind" in spite of all the current technology (cell phone, lap top, ipad's) why be so convinced they'll CATCH UP in the age of A.I. ? We are in fact ALREADY in the age of A.I. - so its really just a matter of whose "riding that wave in" and whose "overtaken by the undertow" .
