The problem that I have with this analysis of emotion-detecting AI is that, as I understand it, the system looks only at the face, not at the environment. Surely the Kuleshov effect (which I'd never heard about until seeing this video) relies on the juxtaposition of images? If you looked just at the image of Hithcock without seeing anything that he was allegedly looking at, there is no Kuleshov effect? I'd agree that there is huge scope for any system to misanalyse facial expressions, but that doesn't seem to be a result of the Kuleshov effect.
