OK, I get the point of the video, and maybe I am focusing on the wrong thing, but I am more frustrated by the slander against the Stargate series than AI. 😅I mean, it's not just some "fictitious portal by which several hostile alien civilizations tried to invade." The entire point of Stargate is that it is humanity going through that gate to learn and find new allies in a vast (but sometimes dangerous) universe, and shows humanity learning from its successes and failures to become better. Stargate Humanity does learn, grow, and become better. Honestly, if Agus weren't so focused on being reductive, the series is actually a fantastic parallel to our current AI industries, because Stargate does not shy away from showing the risks of human greed either, nor the costs of effectively toying with powers you don't understand. Several versions of Earth are wiped out, after all. You might find a McGuffin that cures countless diseases, but you might also dial a black hole. Now there's a nuanced picture showing how a drive for knowledge can lead to existential threats, all without casting Stargate as just a "portal evil aliens attack through."
