I appreciate you backing up artist, but I have to push back on the thought that AI art is soulless. Behind every AI piece of art, there's a person who's creating the prompt for the idea, and I would argue that the idea/message/soul is what we're supposed appreciate, right? So then, I would say to you that AI art isn't inherently soulless or bad, but that AI is still not quite good enough to properly represent ideas. In your own example of what would happen if AI was able to perfectly depict the media you would want to show, I would wager that someone with a much better mind than Miyazaki for storytelling could create a Ghibli film that far supersedes the original. THe content you would consume wouldn't be soulless as you described but rather, the essence of the media would be contained by the person creating the original idea for the prompt. Personally, while it saddens me to see so many artists (myself included) struggle with the idea that all our training could be gate-kept by some AI company, at the end of the day, the final product and the idea behind it is what matters, and it DOESN'T (really) matter whether that product was painstakingly hand-crafted, or generated by an algorithm; so long as the over-all message is properly delivered. That is, of course, to say that there AREN'T problems with AI, such as it being trained on copyrighted ips, which is my personal problem with such tools. And it isn't to say that there aren't any merit for hand-crafted artwork, but vilifying AI as a means to achieve the same artistic objective seems short sighted. It is, after all, just another tool in a artists' arsenal, and at the end of the day, it is the artist that, ultimately, makes the call. Still, I appreciate your efforts to fight the good fight and wish you the best of luck w/ your channel.
