Yes, comparing them to the NFTs is a very good comparison, both have really useful parts, both have people overusing irrelevant parts of it and saying that it's the future and that they'll change how we see the world, and when the popularity lowers, they'll end up the same, with people using the useful parts and ditching the rest. At least with AI it managed to make itself a name before the popularity dies, making decent advancements in medicine, giving boosts to low end computers and giving some people the ability to "talk" with their favourite characters.
