I stopped using dA back around late 2019, early 2020 around the time Eclipse became a permanent feature for the platform. There really isn't any good place for artists anymore because it's either algorithm driven, just not ideal for artists because of its own drama, or some other mess of issues altogether. The only platforms I'm active on anymore are tumblr and Instagram, and with Instagram, you basically have to make your own following from the ground up if you want to do something for a different fandom or promote your own original projects. The algorithm also punishes you if you don't post very often. That's why I like tumblr, but even then, you're kinda grasping for engagement because likes are practically worthless and reblogs ensure your post is seen. Inactivity punishes you in all sense of the world. But, the atmosphere in tumblr is at least a lot more tolerable than the dumpster fire that Twitter has become and now this mess with dA. It's a shame, honestly. dA was the very first art app I ever used and it was dying even when I first joined back in 2018.
