To address Latanya’s point where training these systems on data sets dating back way back in history not just present day and they could have very real very consequential emergent racism tendencies. These machines aren’t just next word probability processors when they start to append logic layers of neural networks that use pattern recognition and logic. There could be a very dark racial probability logic lurking in these machines but we just don’t know.
