You didn't answer the question. Stocks are based on earnings which is based on selling stuff to the masses. The video game example was garbage. If the entire video game industry died tomorrow it wouldn't have much impact on the stock market. Try killing coca cola. If you chop out all those small dollar purchases that are the foundation of the salaries and earnings the whole pyramid collapses. I was kind of hoping for some math here. If companies were paying taxes to the point a stipend was doable they might as well have not automated. If people were getting a stipend equal to what they used to earn that would keep the size of the total pie stagnant.
