As a non-native english speaker in the first part you talk about "you said you were sorry/excited/etc" but ChatGPT were not, is a very english native speaker culture. As a german native speaker, and people who got in contact with german natives will recognize, I know that not all cultures do that. These kind of "acted" way to communicate is a thing ChatGPT has learned because its part of your culture. It's a polite way to engage with non-friends.
