my take on the whole situation, is that it takes away from your arguments if you commit to saying that the AI images "aren't art". That's what gives them ammo to make comments about stuff like the banana. AI art is images that can elicit emotions from people, as far as i'm concerned, that counts as art. However, that doesn't necessarily mean it's GOOD art. Most AI images I've seen are the most dogshit low-effort art i've ever seen, but as far as i'm concerned, that doesn't make it not art.
