About the NFT vs AI argument you made: NFT were completely useless because they were "solving a problem" that was already solved. NFT is completely useless in any kind of application because we already have better tech to do anything it can do. Generative AI, on the other hand, has an actual application of cost/effectiveness when you think about how much faster an AI can generate something while not needing a real artist for doing it. Yes, a computer is way more expensive than paper and pencils, but at the same time, computers are a necessity for modern lives, so that isn't necessarily a entry barrier either for the middle class and above. AI will most likely stay in some shape or form because it is actually useful for quick filler art, which is what I used it for (like creating lots of artworks for mods or specific concepts for a tabletop RPG session). The future of generative AI will probably be a cheaper way to replicate artwork on an industrial setting, like creating the in-between frames to lower animation costs in mundane scenes of an anime while the real animators focus on the more demanding parts of the script/choreography. AI will not and it can not replace real artists, but it still has actual value, no matter how we feel about the ethics of it's use. The only artists that will lose their jobs are the ones that only do small, filler art that only replicate other artist's work on business, like how the printer took the monk's job of replicating books.
