How does an artist come up with a style? How does an artist generate ideas for images? Where does an artist get their understanding of light, shade, perspective, color, composition, etc...? It's based on everything that person has ever seen. Humans have an advantage over AI in that they can move around in actual 3D space and look at stuff, rather than only basing their work on images they see online. Anyone coming at this as a Luddite, trying to interfere with the advancement of technology, I will oppose. If you are coming at it from a perspective of having genuine concerns about how the technology is being used, and that it's based on data that has value but which wasn't paid for, and will be leveraged by big companies to put artists out of work... Okay, maybe you have a point, but you have to balance your concerns with the goal of producing better tools for artists and content creators, and democratizing the field or lowering the barriers to entry. Ultimately, a world in which more people can be creators is better for everyone. It's not a zero-sum game.
