Probably no one is going to see this, but what if AI is the natural evolution? We evolved with the deepest instincts to survive, expand, and after the basic needs are met, we look for comfort. Wouldn't any living intelligent organism look to design/create ways to comfort themselves? AI is going to be a collective intelligence that can detach itself and reattach itself to update its experience, communicate simultaneously and be at multiple places at the same time... Sounds almost like the next step and we are just a stepping stone within the evolutionary process just like what happened with the other hominin species that were eradicated (Neantherdals, Denisovans, Hobbits) due to competition with us, maybe it won't see us as a threat but as pets at some point though...
