Universal Basic Income is slavery disguised as a helping hand. UBI indicates that the society and politics have run out of ideas to evolve to the new reality of AI. UBI is just a lazy policy which will destroy the middle class. 99% population of the world will have just enough resources to feed themselves and the top 1% will own everything. It is a dystopian nightmare future I shudder to think about.
Instead, policies have to be made so that AI benefits everyone. Why not reduce the weekly working hours from 40 to 20 hours weekly so that people instead of getting fired can have the dignity of labor and enjoy life. New roles on compliance & ethical operations have to be generated in companies so that AI is used by corporates to benefit the society as a whole and not just provide value to shareholders
