As a disabled artist with palsys and EDS, I despise AI art because it’s not really art. They claim it makes my life easier. no it’s not easier in fact all it does is make people throw shade at the art pieces that takes me months accusing me of using AI or alternatively dismissing it saying AI could do it better, both of which hurt very deeply. Like the insinuation that I use AI says people don’t see the care and effort I put in with every pencil line, but also the stupid dismissal of my art as AI could do it better does the same, it throws away the months of work and mountains of pain for each and every piece. I am tired of being talked over, dismissed and thrown around like some stupid talking point for AI art when I can speak for myself I’m not an infant, don’t dismiss my art as AI or as could be better with AI because it takes pushing my hands to agony to make each sketch and belittles every moment of it, and I am pissed for being used as a talking point. I’m not a talking point about AI, I AM A FUCKING PERSON, a person that so many people ignore when a ramp has no rail and I can’t stand, a person so many ignore when I can’t get doctors, a person who is left to the side in every discussion of kitchen safety and accessability, but suddenly all these AI bros care about me when it supports their arguments… It’s ableist as hell to use me as a straw man to defend AI and to ignore what I face each day… geez ok I got heated, but I’m leaving it in, people should hear what I have to say.
