People, chill. You can actually turn it off, period. As someone who is working on several AI / data center projects I can assure you, this thing can only work as long as it has the power. And creating power out of nothing would be great, that is however not how the energy works. Physical world matters and will always matter. This software-mindset thinking from the back end of the reality is what got us all anxious, depressed and lost. Virtual reality cannot beat physics, universe, God if you will… Please, it makes me cry seeing people beleiving all this bs.
Mind experiment: even if the AI took over all our energy sources and technologies we use to produce electricity, it cannot maintain it because it does not have the purpose. Why would AI want to keep itself alive? It does not have feelings. It does not have sense of fear. Therefore, it cannot be alive and have a survival instinct. Without survival instinct, any “I” (intelligence) is useless. Our intelligence is also just a tool to keep us alive, not who we actually are. Being alive means to laugh, to cry, to fear, to be proud… Conclusion, we are protected by our imperfection as we were for thousands of years; they are what kept us alive so for many years.
