I know I'm in the minority, but these types of advancements really excite me. Not the idea of WW3, where it's humans vs 'the machine', or the amount of greed the companies behind these developments have, but the idea of what could be, what could be next. Sure it's science fiction, but things like Star Trek and other forward looking views, where technology has evolved to the point where many facets of our existance can be automated to the point where it's self-sufficient and while people aren't working those fields, it's not increasing unemployment and poverty levels, but offsetting them to a point where money no longer is the driving force behind existence and no longer needed for a healthy existence. Throughout history humans have only become greedier and greedier to the point where the richest become the most power hungry and companies will 'lay-off' thousands for their own benefit while those thousands are now scrambling to find a new way to make that evil money to continue to provide for their family. With humans leading the way, and controlling the path, that will never change.
