Analogy.
Malaria kills millions of humans, so humans developed a method of DNA gene splicing to alter the mosquito breeding cycle to wipe them all out.
Mosquito does not know what genetics are, DNA, gene splicing or interrupting their breeding cycle is.
Humans will have no concept that AI is preparing to wipe us all out. No clue. We will just be gone and we will have no idea is happening or even happened. We will just be gone.
