Tracing is a tried and true method of practicing, it is not okay to claim it as original works. I have absolutely used legally obtained backgrounds and clip art to practice editing methods but I absolutely site the source and do state it was for practice. It's sad that things that have been used as teaching tools and methods of practice are being treated as something else. There has been an issue with modders and content creators using AI for thumbnails and my stance is a bit different on that front. If they are using AI to create the images to put together themselves, similar to how I would practice I'm fine with that. Using AI for the entire thing will have me ignore everything you do. Show me effort. I'm fully aware not everyone can draw or edit, but you have to show me that you want my time.
