Saying you have to study years for a craft to be able to create something out of your mind is just elitist. Some people are just fine with the short route. My school said art is about the message/idea *AND* craft/skill. Nobody looks at Picasso just to think about his technique dude.
Saving energy is also stupid as argument. You wouldnt advocate for less TV-watching or sitting in the dark because of fossil fuels. Not, you argue for renewable energies to safe current state of civilisation. Nobody wants to go back to stone age.
