One comment I've seen recently that infuriates me: "Consumers don't care about the process, they care about the product!" 1) That says more about the people looking at the work than the piece itself; if people don't take the time to appreciate the time and effort that went into it, that tells me they don't have an honest eye for true beauty and (I dare say it) they don't have souls. 2) If people only care about the product, that also tells me that consumerism has run too rampant in society. I don't think there's an easy way out of it, but learning to create art by hand would be a good first step in the right direction. As for the point about "AI being no different from human inspiration," the writing world has a concept called "writing slant;" basically, whatever you write about, you have to inject your own point of view and sensibilities to show the audience something a little different. That, I believe, is something inherently human that no generative AI will ever be able to replicate. Edit: The whole point about "breaking down barriers to ableism" is one of the reasons why so many people (including myself) decided to boycott NaNoWriMo; it's insulting to all the disabled writers who are able to write great stories.
