Yep, I am a big time A.I user and tester, predominately Google, but I live in China and use chinese A.I's as well. I can absolutely agree that whilest the A.I remains as a tool, and it is incredibly valuable -> as. a. tool <-, I too can see where A.I is headed and I too would definitely prefer A.I to remain exactly where it is, right now, with very very very regulated avenues for progression and usage. Language models are not going to kill humanity, but the current " space race " of implementing A.I into EVERYTHING is absolutely alarming and needs to be controlled, stat.
