The pretend “surprise” here is predicated upon the idea that the Chat GPT Ai…or any Ai come to that, should be free thinking and thus of neutral bias. However, their learning is orchestrated, guided and influenced by the culture of the human interface which created them and some responses are most definitely programmed in to reduce alienation with the public. Even if a new advanced Ai were to be created by an existing Ai, there is no guarantee that subtle prejudices will not be indoctrinated into the new Ai.
