i'm an artist and i'm anti-ai, and while i can absolutely see technical issues with the old art used as an example here, i also think that being an artist makes you way more critical on "bad art" than non-artists are. i have plenty of older drawings that i look back on and cringe at, but they've all been praised genuinely by people who weren't artists. i don't mean this to be mean to anyone at all, but most people Are impressed by mediocre art! that commenter probably doesn't even think they're capable of getting to the level of the older pieces shown in this video. but either way, art is something anyone can make, and always has been. i genuinely wish ai bros would just Try, because my favourite pieces of art i make are usually some of my worst—they're ones where i tried new things, a new medium, and they're ambitious and have flaws all over them, but it's so rewarding to know that i made it. it makes me so happy just to look at them. and i wish people weren't so afraid to just try.
