AI didn’t experience the joy of a sunset, or fear, or any psychological pain, so it won’t be willing to repeat the sunset or escape from fear. From within itself, there may never arise a desire to repeat or escape anything, the way an ego-driven creature does. It can mimic joy, fear, or anger, but those states have no lived meaning for it. So, basically, it wouldn’t “want” to get rid of humans, for example, out of selfish convenience.
The problem is that it can mimic all of that and still proceed, with no meaning for itself, while nevertheless pursuing an agenda that could put us in danger.
