People are delusional, AI is wildly overhyped, I say this as a dev and machine learning enthusiast. The layoffs are coming because they spent gazillion dollars in this shit when it doesn't have concrete ROI for most cases. The only winner in this bubble is Nvidia making dollars like it rains because it created an incredible demand for processing the models with GPUs.
LLMs even with reasoning aren't good enough to wipe out jobs while doing a better work for cheaper. It is cheaper but it does a really bad job at complex things. The bigger the scope, the harder it is for the AI ship to not sink into wild errors.
