It will be the opposite. There will be a smaller gap between rich and poor because everyone will have access to AI as we do now. OpenAI and others, their philosophy is giving humanity the tools for more efficient productivity. It will enable anyone to complete their current task more efficiently. By the time AGI is created, ~ 20 years, the current generation and all of society would have already adapted to using AIs in every aspect of civilization. And it would then be possible with AGI to seamlessly transition society into a futuristic utopia where true freedom (within the laws) is possible. The freedom to chase your passion and what gives you fulfillment. The freedom to spend time with nature and or loved ones. The freedom to chose to be a social worker in personalized fields such as caregivers and health.
