I think it must be the position of privilege that he comes from that makes him assume that people must work to define their identity. The man is self-aware enough to point out that he had the goal of "raising several million dollars" which he successfully achieved. That's privilege. I'd be extraordinarily happy under a UBI system. A large weight of just trying to survive would be lifted off my shoulders. It would free my time to be creative and inventive. Maybe give me time to solve big problems facing humanity. Like unchecked AI. What a load of BS that people have to work to feel fulfilled. Puke. Everything else that he said was spot on, though.
