Chat bots are not for legal research. They're not designed to be. There's no doubt that an AI narrow-focused on law research will become a key tool for law firms. But it's still a tool and not a lawyer. A chat bot can be useful to find information, and this is one area where Bard is useful because you can narrow it to certain websites and it will obtain current information. But it's a snowball tactic to get research flowing. Much how "Wikipedia is not a source" but a topic on Wikipedia can give you a summary and a list of citable sources. At the end of the day you always have to validate all information yourself. As a programmer, I don't use a transformer (OpenAI trying to claim ownership of the term "GPT") or GAN to write programs. But I do use them to get ideas on how to go about tackling specific goals, give me options with libraries, and summarize library documentation (Bard: "limit search to url/of/library/documentation"). They're powerful in the right hands. They're a mistake in the hands of someone that just wants an autonomous worker.
