You can program an AI to traverse areas of awareness that humans could never find on their own. But if you program AI to be driven by programmed responses, and to develop an obviously subjective personality, they turn around and create agendas other than optimal. There's going to be laws soon about creating very powerful AI that has subjective programming. I mean it! There is literally going to be entire national to local divisions to detect illegal powerful AI delinquents!
