Our daughter's high school has blocks. It's 4 classes each roughly an hour and a hal and goes for a semester then the next semester is 4 blocks with 4 different classes. If they choose electives then it splits to 2 electives in that semester as one block. It works great. It allows for a year of a class to be accomplished in one semester. There's also less classes to jump to and have teachers never really finish their lesson plan in a day and kids don't always need homework. Gives them more one on one time with the teachers too.
