Based on my work experience in several companies, the vast majority of work involves “monkey see, monkey do”; that is, you get training, you do what you told, you deliver what it has been promised and you get paid for how much you have delivered. Nothing more nothing less. Most of workers (dare I say over 90%) rarely “think outside the box.”
Now this advent of AI is forcing us to be very different from our predecessor and I am afraid to say that not everyone is up to the challenge. Many so-called experts are emphasizing “Upskill” But I am already exhausted with so many different tools and technologies that I have to learn just to keep up, especially against young and entrepreneur group.
There is a reason why Chinese have a new social phenomenon called “Lying Flat.” That is, giving up aspirations in life completely due to overwhelming social and financial pressure. I feel it will get so much worse in the future with this rampant, unregulated AI.
