As a first responder that’s been on the job for close to a decade now there’s always going to be stuff that trips the ai/driverless trucks or vehicles up, random unpredictable stuff happens every day on our roads, I see new stuff that makes me go wtf on a weekly basis and same with the guys in my squad that’s been on the job for 30-40-50 years and they still see new wtf moments daily so there’s never going to be a full set of stuff to look out for to program or teach the ai, the no accidents or death thing is going to be a scam and a lie, and as for the platooning where one truck with driver is followed by 2 or 3 others, just allow road trains at that point like Australia not just the tiny doubles and triples that the likes of fedex runs now but full size road trains, like here in Aus with full size doubles and triples, and quads, or b triples b quads or A B triple/quad combos and they aren’t as bad in industrial or urban areas as non Aussies think they go though my small city a lot, my father had a double and triple combo for moving cattle off the farm, and they often go into the likes of ports and facilities where I have lived before and there’s not many issues at all and I’ve driven in Texas and other parts of America and americas interstate system is almost a perfect place to set up and run proper Aussie road trains so instead of 3 tractor units pulling 3 individual trailers have 1 tractor unit pull 3 and Aus it’s been proven for so long it works well and it’s so common here most trucks run trailer combos and I pass road trains in traffic like Americas pass regular tucks daily
