When a human isn’t able to feel authentic emotion or sympathy, but gets really good at imitating those things through practice, and maintains relationships with others by telling them what they want to hear, that human is known as a sociopath.
It alarms me to hear someone describe the chatbot as a “perfect” partner because it never gets tired of listening and never demands anything. If you never need to give anything to a relationship, if you are never inconvenienced and never have to make compromises, if every interaction is just you receiving constant validation, then that is not a relationship. The chatbot is an ego stroker, not a partner.
