That's the thing, there's no "thievery" that happens. Coming from open source side of argument - copyright itself needs to be dismantled, which is the underpinning of yours and majority of the artists' whole argument against AI. Talking about AI being an offense to life itself - the way artists want it to be is an offense to mind, reason and our autonomy itself. Art itself is just information - you're not and you were never supposed to own information. Nobody owes you for it, if that information can be gathered elsewhere. Arguing otherwise is like saying that some random newspaper that covered an event first, somehow owns the news and the event itself, and that everyone has to buy it from them. That's parasitic - and parasites need to be destroyed. Artists need to stop hitching themself to an entirely parasitic way of living. If AI helps destroy it - perfect, can't wait for it. Earning a living from performative part (being handmade and personal) of it is fine, so is delivering this performance by some medium - because it doesn't limit other people's mind to what you'd like it to be. Figure that out and you're fine, and nobody has an issue with you. But that's the inconvenient part.
