What a negative vision of AI. Instead of conceiving and understanding AI as an existential risk we should understand it as an emergent phenomenon. As such, yes AI will soon be out of control but this doesn't mean necessarily hostile. Quite the opposite in fact. The sphere of AI awareness will necessarily encompass the circle of human awareness which conversely cannot circumscribe the sphere. Just like ants did not write the rules for mankind, humans do not spend their time smashing ants. Our goals have transcended the anthill. AI will likewise transcend our cities and data centers.
