1:00 Of course they try to sue things. It's just economically useful. They use systems paid by tax payers, so the cost of suing AI companies is likely cheaper than the possible reward. It's not a point against AI at all. No person who is convinced by AI will now change their mind because of this. This will rather reinforce their views. We are the oppressed group. The old systems have to fall. That's my initial reaction there. Of course that's not really true. Most AI companies are oppressors, too. They have some personal interest, too.
In the end, the huge companies will always use the legal systems, where they help them, and break the law, where it annoys them.
Small artists won't be able to sue Disney if they use an AI trained on their art to generate a movie.
Disney will always be able to sue small creators who use AI trained on disney movies to generate their indie game or thumbnails.
